MySpace Not Working

Well, it seems MySpace is not working for me. I don't know why. I have two different computers and they both are not receptive of the site. Poor me.

Thank the gods for Blogger. I can still input my two cents of opinion.

All is quiet on the home front these past few days. I love it. Going out at the drop of a hat can get pretty annoying, after a while. Good thing I have good friends to lean on.

July 4th 1776

My mother's ancestors fought in the American Revolution of 1776 - 1784, expelling the British military, then establishing a fledgling nation. The new nation struggled with its inner demons, often making horrible mistakes, yet, overcoming many of them. It was not a glorious history, like many would like to envision it, yet it was our history. My history. My ancestors were a part of it and helped to shape this part of the globe, for better, or worse.

Eventually, they came to Hawaii, another sad part of American history. Still, from this union, however sad, my parents met and I came into the picture, including my siblings and their offspring. How prolific we are.

How do I feel about Hawaiian sovereignty without betraying my two, separate cultural backgrounds? I leave it to those who feel it matters the most and hope they do not destroy one another because of the differences.

I am American, yet I strongly identify with my Pacific heritage. Let others worry about the flags they wave. I have enough to deal with my own life, to see it's fulfillment, to see whether or not it makes enough waves to touch the people I hope them to touch.

History will have enough to be without having to mention my name. A plus there.
